Far more than I appear to be
Within my eyes, the mystery
Lies inside this soul – this core
Washed up on a distant shore
Where words that lie on tips of tongue
And slips of memory freely run
Along the edge of inspiration
Trail bright sparks of stimulation
Beneath a darkened far-off sky
A kindred spirit’s lullaby
Faintly whispers to my mind
Ancient secrets left behind
Its shining eyes discerns my soul
Infusing all that’s beautiful
I am so quick to comprehend
Yet fear to follow, in the end
Losing much of what I’ve seen
Who I am and where I’ve been
