When She Comes to Call

She sits alone amid twinkling stars in velvet ebony

Controls the tides along the shores of every azure sea

And to comfort the darkest hour, she softly sheds her light

Sets the mood for lovers to swoon beneath her with delight

Never-changing is her makeup to those who view her face

Her form appears so sweetly with each expected trace

Although her womb is void of life, she affects us all

As we sing tunes about the moon, when she comes to call…

About Kay Salady

I write about the greatest force on earth that, I believe, lives on forever and surpasses all else. "All your poems read like I am watching an artist use words instead of colours full of feeling." ~Anon.
