Light of Love

Outstretch your frail and human wings

For you were made for better things

Let my presence flood your soul

Run my child run and be whole

Feet fall lightly on each trace

That lead you to a secret place

The path will guide you to the gates

Where the source of real love waits

Behind the hedgerow you’ll find there

A blooming rose with bud so rare

Unfolding petals fresh with dew

With fragrance sweet like none you knew

As you look up above the rose

An angel lays in sweet repose

At sight of you she spreads her wings

Parts her lips and softly sings

Compassion’s light then fills your soul

Her presence is so wonderful

As you look up into her eyes

She lifts you then to paradise

Afar from sun’s soft orange glow

Far past this earthly realm you know

Beyond the moon and stars so bright

Unfolding corridors of light

Where some familiar music plays

Echoing softly through the haze

Of outstretched arms that do await

To welcome you at heaven’s gate

Somehow you do not feel alone

For you know you have come back home

About Kay Salady

I write about the greatest force on earth that, I believe, lives on forever and surpasses all else. "All your poems read like I am watching an artist use words instead of colours full of feeling." ~Anon.
