Silver Threads

There are little silver threads sewn into my heart

Your fingertips are wrapped around each and every part

They pull upon the strings and play a serenade

No matter what the distance, a symphony is played

The ribbons of your Love are neatly intertwined

Around the silver threads that spin along with mine

As they pull too tightly, I feel a painful shudder

Reminded of the distance keeping us from one another

I reach to draw you close to bring you to my heart

For fear the silver threads will tear themselves apart

Yet, as I search for comfort to ease my troubled mind

Tangled up in silver threads that seem to be unkind

I feel a gentle pull from your heartstrings afar

And realize the ties that bind me to where you are
