Yellow-Blossomed Prickly Pear
‘Neath the Ponderosa Pine
Upon rich forest floor
Prickly pear is inclined
To blossoming once more
Buttery petals of sunshine
With ruby centered glee
Burst from tiny buds
Once again for me
Oh, lovely cactus flower
Unfurling in your snare
Of verdant needled power
Aglow within my stare
I reached to touch
Your lovely wispy center
Faltering oh so much
Never chanced to enter
Petals sent with powers
Of ruby centered glee
Held to cactus flowers
For everyone to see

Wonderful angel. Thank you for the lovely trip in a virtual garden. It felt like I am there with you and you are guiding me……..

A beautiful tribute to one of nature’s most awesome flowers. When they bloom in the hill country of Texas, it is a wondrous sight to see! Nicely done, Kay!
