Secure

Somehow we lost our focus

For but a paltry moment

Then via opportunity

Drifted the assailant

Within a shroud of apathy

And unfamiliar motivation

He took away all that we knew

And changed our situation

We cannot recount the instant

The interloper fled

For no one saw him coming

Despite the fear and dread

That he inflicts upon us

As we anxiously await

Not knowing when he’ll enter

An abandoned open gate

We’ve neglected to defend

In our security

For never do we realize

That we have no right to be
