Agony

Concealed inside

This flesh and bone

Lay all my grief

And the alone

I carry

I’ve swallowed

Such a bitter pill

That I have downed

Against my will

Oh I am drowning

I cannot breathe

I’ve been deceived

I am so full

Of disbelief

That you’ve gone

And taken all

My hope away

Scraped my heart clean

Of yesterday’s

Sweet promise

There is no vow

There’s nothing now

I’m hollow

As I swallow

Gulps of agony
