The Gentle Call

I bask in the warmth of your memory

As your word comes to soothe my soul

Infusing me with golden nectar

From within the comb of honey bees

O’ the sweet assurance of your love

Covers me as a veil spun from finest silk

And this promise gives me wings to fly

Marked by the colors of your rainbow

I am then fed by your sweet manna

Refreshed by living falls of water

Drench me in a life of passion

Where flames are quenched

By eyes that see and ears that hear

All for a heart that longs to return

And all for a soul that remembers

The gentle call of he who waits
