Where Frost has Painted Crystals

The frost within the meadow

Paints crystals on the reeds

Dipping low within the pond

Reflecting all she sees

Gathered there around her

So frozen and so still

Making plans to lay to rest

As autumn brings her chill

She burnishes the flowers

She sets the trees ablaze

With red and orange and yellow

With hints of purple haze

And with the breath of winter

A golden carpet’s laid

To present the harvest

Ere all the colors fade

Beneath a diamond blanket

So frozen and so still

Where frost has painted crystals

Beyond the farthest hill

I write about the greatest force on earth that, I believe, lives on forever and surpasses all else. "All your poems read like I am watching an artist use words instead of colours full of feeling." ~Anon.
