Tears of the Anointed

girl, crying, tears

A few more drops of water

Upon the hearts of stone

Can break their seals in order

To take them as their own

Lifting them from burdens

They’ve carried for so long

Freeing them to hold onto

The place where they belong

Where tiny imperfections

Upon their outer clay

No longer have significance

For they’ve been washed away

By tears of the anointed

Whose hands have gathered bones

Of brokenhearted lovers

Who’ve sealed their hearts in stone
