Elusive Reverie

Elusive Reverie

Wandering in the vacancy

Of a mind that refuses

To forfeit her secrets

Where can I turn

I, the Oracle

Surrender to the silence

Anticipating shame

Near the edge of reason

Reality drifts by –

Cold fingers dripping dreams

From this river of illusion

Escape my attempts

To gather bits and pieces

For the spaces I can’t fill

And the sound is deafening

As I sink into darkness

Alone with my insanity

An incessant ringing taunts me

To tunnel to the core

Of my elusive reverie
