A Poet’s Pillow

Poet's Pillow

Inside the dark of night

Eyes filled with the sea

Draw near the inspiration

You gather as you sleep

There upon your pillow

Wrestling with the stars

In search of a bright nimbus

Imparting all the powers

There within the cosmos

You’re sinking deeper still

Bending to its purpose

Lending it your will

Encouragement sustains you

As the ancients pass the scroll

Glowing are its pages

Filled with truth so beautiful

From wells of living water

Flowing ever free

Since the dawn of time

Throughout eternity

Fingers touch each teardrop

And fly them past the moon

Where jars of alabaster

Are filled with golden spoons

Then sealed on shelves of crystal

Near an azure sea

Its waves bring songs of comfort

To set the caged bird free

O’ Poet bring the language

That is written on the scrolls

Sing well the songs of Sages

That are whispered to your soul

Each day when you awaken

From your journey to the stars

Consider that your pillow

Holds the key to who you are
