I’m Sorry

I made you cry last night
When I should have held on tight
To all the little things rolling ‘round my head
And the words I wish I’d used instead today
I want to make things right
But you don’t want to talk to me
And I wonder if things will ever be the same
It hurts me that I made you sad
The things I said were so damn bad
Even though I want to run and hide
And I’m feeling all mixed up inside
It’s you that I want to come running to
Baby, I’m sorry
Hold my head in your sweet hands
Please, tell me that you understand
Wipe the teardrops from my face
And softly whisper you’ll erase my sin
So the world can be alright again
And this poor fool might have a chance
To earn a place where I may dance
In the center of your love
