Purple Sands

I’ve walked the purple sands

As scattered reflections swell

Then crash within the tides

That rush to wish me well

The sky has captured bliss

Within its canopy

Celestial stars unravel

A breathtaking tapestry

Where light directs the way

By calling to my soul

Penetrating everything

With love so beautiful

Deep within its core

Embedded as a seed

The roots of something greater

Than I was take hold of me

Embellishing all thought

To that of those who’ve passed

Across the purple-covered shores

In the distant past

Where expression shimmered

As shells washed by the tide

Gathered in their pockets

So safely tucked inside

Until an avid seeker

Searches for her roots

Within a world of givers

Who dare to speak the truth

Requesting no return

But a token for the sky

To bear a newborn star

Within a purple sigh

The tapestry unfolds

With the scratching of a quill

Across a vacant canvas

As a poet bends her will
