Wandering Spirit

A Mermaid by John William Waterhouse

I am as a rushing river

Searching for the sea

I long to find the treasures

That lay buried in the deep

I cannot stay beside you

Although you want me near

For I am a wandering spirit

And my path, a trail of tears

So very sacred are the secrets

That are carried by the breeze

Emptied by the waters

And whispered through the trees

Then gathered by the ocean

And placed along its floor

In silver beads of twilight

Floating silent, evermore

About Kay Salady

I write about the greatest force on earth that, I believe, lives on forever and surpasses all else. "All your poems read like I am watching an artist use words instead of colours full of feeling." ~Anon.
