I, the Clown

I, the Clown

I

the clown

dig in deep

clawing at pain

to somehow bleed it away

My tears fall upon the fallen

as they hide behind masques of denial

seeking some refuge in these eyes of sorrow

that they may know they are not alone

in this world filled with smiles that lack feeling
