Deluge

Deluge

I swim a steady stream of declarations

Struggling against a current of misfortune

Aiming for the colors of your promise

I know I lack the judgment

To discern within my mind

The better avenue to follow

Yet I pursue a vivid dream

That incessantly pervades

The river of my discontent

And in this muddy water

I rise to take a breath

For fear that I shall drown

Impeding your intention

I rise to take a breath
