I Return

I Return

You’re just a dream
Someone I knew
So long ago
I know we’re through
Yet I return
To picture you
I can’t resist
The boy I knew

This childhood dream
I hold onto
Was a fantasy
That had come true
Inside my arms
And in my mind
A reality
That I unwind

I do love you
Though I resist
Your gentle tug
Through the bright mist
Of all the things
That used to be
To keep you real
Inside of me
