As I Draw Nigh to Rest

The Rage of Fallen Angel by deswitath

I tightly cling to this grief-stricken flesh

Unable to fathom the level to which I plummet

Bruised wings pummel against the raging wind

Shredding bits of sweet marrow

And splintering fragments of bone

As I draw nigh to rest upon the lowly plain

I seek forgiveness in the blissful azure sky

Frantically searching the billows for your remains

Sadly I am hopeless for I linger as the dust

With mere want for my beloved’s call

How many seasons must I pause in silence

Before the rock is broken and the river freely flows
