Soft, the Powder Fell

Soft, the Powder Fell

Soft, the powder fell

Sending snowflakes to the ground

Through the dark of night

Silent beauty was around

Blanketing the trees

In a clear and sparkling blue

Now slender chips of ice

Replace the morning dew

Sleeps the frozen earth

So still in its array

Of powdered white perfection

On a newborn winter’s day
