Capricious

Capricious

The voices inside
reverberate cadence
that quickens the heart
and maddens the mind

Erroneous impressions
dance through the shadows
sweeping the cobwebs
in corners unkempt
spraying a mist
of woebegone ardor

As deja vu whispers
you’ll forget to find
the hours you’ve lost
searching for slumber
looking for numbers
the clock left behind
