Piece by Piece

Something so simple
Got way out of hand
Things were so easy
I can’t understand
Why you tore it apart
Piece by piece
I can taste blood
From biting my lips
And pushing back tears
With cold fingertips
That can no longer trace
Your silhouette
I took the fall
And I lost the bet
A day in September
When I offered it all
To you
