Dreamland Lullaby

Dreamland Lullaby

Into the night by firefly light
She runs inside her dreams
Defying death draws in a breath
Then sails on apron strings
Above the tree of ebony
And field of clover green
Flying far to a distant star
In the eighteenth galaxy
In this world a little girl
Wandering through dreamland
Meets light and love that take hold of
Her tiny outstretched hands
So precious is the moment
Her gentle song is heard
And in the hush the feathered rush
Of angel wings have stirred
Within the sacred silence
They gently lift her home
Whispering softly in her ear
You’ll never be alone

*I am so very blessed to find photographs that suit my poetry so well after I’ve written it. It absolutely amazes me. Especially this one! Thank you, Leah Wood.
