Immortal Drink of Gods

immortal drink of gods

O’ to speak the unspeakable prayer

Once sunlight bursts the shadows

That lie within the midnight hour

Gathering flights of fancy

Flesh has met with madness

By lips immersed in wine

Scratching for the scent to rise

From nectar clouding minds

And all the while each second

Pleads for stolen breath

To come and take, to satiate

This thirst for tiny death
