Tell Me Lies

sad

Say you love me
Tell me lies
What harm can it do
I just need to hear
Them pour out of you
Three tiny words
Simple and endearing
It’s the day for love
The taste is bittersweet
And it would be complete
If I crossed your mind
And I heard one last time
That I do

Say you love me
Tell me lies
What harm can it do
When love is just a word
That slips off your tongue
Three tiny words
Free and easy
Like any other day
The sound is bittersweet
And I feel incomplete
When you cross my mind
Because you’re so unkind
It’s true

Say you love me
Tell me lies
What harm can it do
Love’s a great big word
I’ve freely given you
