In Fields of Reverie

“Of all losses, time is the most irrecuperable for it can never be redeemed.”

-Henry VIII of England

The poppies have withered

And I’ve forgotten how to dream

Their black seeds crushed

In the hourglass

Its fine sand now declining

Deception came to take away

The time I thought was mine

Remembrance sealed

Inside my heart

Beyond an open door

How I hunger for a window

Leading to the green

Where I might reap

That hallowed sleep

In fields of reverie
