A Gift Beyond Compare

a-gift-beyond-compare

A star had split the darkness
Where earth in stillness lay
Sleeping in the shadows
Before the dawn of grace
Kings knelt down before him
To humbly offer prayer
For He was born to offer
A gift beyond compare
The angels sang in splendor
Above the sacred head
Of Jesus gently resting
Within a lowly bed
Do I dare approach him
This blessed child so rare
Who would so freely offer
A gift beyond compare
A star had split the darkness
Where earth in stillness lay
For he was born to offer
The world redeeming grace
