For Always
These shining shards of glass
Reflect the burning sun
That once shone lemon yellow
Upon my chosen one
Soft as butter crème
Between vanilla wafer
Each day was long and sweet
The kind that one would savor
For always
I reached to touch the hair
The breeze softly caressed
Rosemary blew within
Each raven-feathered tress
Inhaling the sweet fragrance
Eager to take it in
Unless I should forget
The details of my sin
For loving you so much
That my poor heart would break
At the mere thought of missing
Another breath that you may take
My heart was made of glass
Filled with your sweet wine
Such a lovely gesture
And the taste was so divine
Yet it had come to pass
That I would thirst for more
Left broken and discarded
Along a distant shore
For always
