With Simple Grace

Who touched this heart with simple grace

The tender hands that touched each place

So tenderly kissed each fallen tear

Each sad goodbye each childhood fear

Her soft sweet smile and perfumed hair

The warm embrace she longed to share

Each time we met both day and night

She knew how to make things right

When days were long and sad my heart

The pain I felt tore me apart

She seemed to know just what to do

To comfort me and help me through

Without her selfless giving ways

Could I get through the endless days

Of growing up and growing tall

Feeling lost and feeling small

Who carried me each time I fell

Who listened to the lies I’d tell

Quick to forgive and slow to chide

Yes, she’s my ever loving guide

Who brought me to this lovely place

And touched my heart with simple grace
